Patient Service Driver

Job Summary:Under immediate supervision, this candidate will safely and responsibly drive children, parents, and/or staff to and from the Watts Counseling and Learning Center, according to a set daily schedule. Assume responsibility for monitoring and following through on maintenance and service needs of company vehicles. Interface with school personnel, community agencies, parents, staff, and children, building rapport, while establishing and maintaining positive and professional relationships.Essential Responsibilities:

Transport children, parents, and/or staff to and from center.

Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all passengers; administering first-aid to ill or injured passengers when necessary.

Comply with all applicable traffic and student transportation laws, codes and regulations.

Conduct daily vehicle safety inspections, refuel, and maintain routine preventive maintenance on center vehicles.

Prepare and maintain records and reports related to vehicle operation and condition.

Assist with route planning.

Maintain current school bus licensure and certificates as prescribed by the Department of Motor Vehicles and California Highway Patrol.

Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.

Engage with school personnel, community agencies, parents, staff, and children.

Assume other activities and responsibilities on an as-needed basis.

Basic Qualifications:Experience

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent.

License, Certification, Registration

Driver's License - School Bus Endorsement

Basic Life Support

Additional Requirements:

Knowledge of safe and defensive driving practices, applicable traffic and student transportation laws, codes and regulations.

Good written and verbal communication.

Must provide Live Scan clearance within 90 days of employment.
