job summary:

The ServiceNow Platform Administrator is a key technical leadership role responsible for leading the performance, health, licensing, security, Disaster Recovery, IAM and upgrade activities for the ServiceNow platform. This includes planning and managing software and hardware upgrades, ensuring backups are being performed according to policy, data is retained according to policy, ensuring that the platform is performing as expected, and addressing platform alerts from ServiceNow (vendor). Developing and maintaining operational documentation, metrics, process schedules, security, and capacity trending will be part of the daily activities. The ServiceNow Platform Administrator will be responsible for ensuring the platforms versions are are current and make recommendations where they see opportunities for improvement or suspect future issues based on growth and capacity.


Additionally, at the senior level this position possesses advanced competencies, mentors and leads other staff, provides additional peer review, and recommends and leads improvement initiatives.

responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Maintains the stability and usability of the platform across production and nonproduction environments
  • Monitors and reports on ServiceNow platform health, performance, security and licensing. Recommends or drives actions and activities when appropriate
  • Works with the ServiceNow platform architect to build the foundation based on ServiceNow best practices
  • Collaborates with Platform Owner and Product Owners to unify the platform roadmap vision
  • Identifies long term solutions that prevent and reduce reoccurrence of issues and provide a framework for continued growth
  • Performs the day-to-day administration of the platform.
  • Actively mentors other COEI colleagues on platform security, performance, health and user management based on ServiceNow best practice
  • Manages alerts and communications from ServiceNow and works with COEI colleges to triage and act on communications when appropriate
  • Leads improvement projects, implementations, and upgrades to the platforms
  • Monitors platform license usage and plans for new demand with Product Owners and Platform Owner
  • Acts as coordinator and primary point of contact for system recovery in case of system failure
  • Troubleshoots platform problems that are of a high degree of complexity and difficulty that require exceptional analytical skills, innovation, and creativity necessary to formulate and implement the mechanisms to identify and solve the problems.
  • Manages instance security: user/group access, administration, access control lists. etc.
  • Provides configuration assistance to developers
  • Confirms the technical design and integration requirements with various systems to support processes that require data exchange
  • Participates in workshops when security must be considered
  • Participates in tool/vendor selection processes for integrations or add-on products
  • Maintains a close vendor relationship with the hardware and software vendors we supporting
  • Stays current on the marketplace changes to hardware and software we support.

REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE



  • Minimum of 7 Years of IT Experience
  • Minimum of 5 Year of ServiceNow Platform Administration experience

REQUIRED LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS



  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator certification
  • Minimum of 5 Year of ServiceNow Platform Administration experience

  • Ability to participate in an on-call rotation 24/7
