Based in the Los Angeles, California area, this exciting short-term contract / temporary opportunity is set in an engaging work place where hard work is rewarded. In this role, the Staff Accountant holds responsibility for preparing monthly and year-end closings, fixed asset maintenance, journal entries, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. A very involved position, this role produces Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. You will also be in charge of many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You'll also communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, take part in compliance, and look over schedules for the reporting processes.How you will make an impact
Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments
Keep up fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed
Aid in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Create monthly statement analysis to be used for management reportings
Execute month end close, journal entries, with little supervision
Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner Requirements - Proficient in ERP systems
Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Strong attention to detail
Remarkable analytical, quantitative and social skills
Accounting Entries experience
Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Recent and relevant accounting experience
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
