work schedule is

8 hrs Monday to Friday (with a weekday off and off on Sundays)

8 hrs Saturday

This is a physically demanding position and mostly outdoors. We require that you must be able to lift 50lbs minimum. Must be able to bend, lift, push, stoop, stretch, climb, and crawl and other strenuous activities to assist the director with all operating tasks. Tasks include but are not limited to:

· Guinea pig wellness checks, behavioral observation and adoptions

· Daily customer service since we deal with the public, in person, quite a bit to provide guinea pig care guidance; so must have strong verbal skills.

· Strategic thinking, planning and execution is necessary.

· Skilled with time management, prioritizing and multitasking.

· Must have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills and ability to work under pressure.

· Strong work ethic with a high degree of energy, emotional intelligence and excellent interpersonal skills.

· Ability to work in a facility with a variety of animal species as you make be required to work with our horses, chickens and all other animals on the property and cleaning enclosures.

Allowed to work legally in the USA and have a valid drivers license and reliable transport

Background checks will be performed

Occasional travel may be required to assist with transport for veterinary appointments, animal adoptions or rescue.

Previous guinea pig experience is not a pre-requisite. Training will be provided.

Requires you to work on Saturdays and sometimes extra hours outside of the regular schedule might be required.

Experience working in a non-profit organization, an animal shelter, a training program and/or rescue experience is a plus

We provide guinea pig boarding, adoptions, free health checks and facilitate an urgent care staffed by a veterinary twice a month.
