Technical Artist, Avatars Team

Summary: Meta’s Reality Labs is looking for a Technical Artist to join our avatars team. The avatars team creates and maintains the system that powers our avatars used across our family of apps, including all of our Metaverse initiatives in VR/AR. As a Technical Artist working on tools and pipelines, you will have the opportunity to work closely with designers, engineers, and other technical artists to help bring characters to life. Characters who are part of our apps that are used by billions of users around the world.Required Skills: Technical Artist, Avatars Team Responsibilities:

Create and maintain a wide array of existing workflows and tools

Partner closely with art, engineering, user-experience, product management, and other teams to develop content in modern real-time environments

Design, manage and maintain the content pipeline from asset creation through deployment

Quickly innovate and solve issues with cross-functional teams

Ability to collaborate and iterate based on the team's evolving needs

Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications:

Experience collaborating on multi-disciplinary teams

Experience with Python

Experience with real time asset implementation and optimization techniques

Experience in character technologies

Familiarity with DCC tools such as Maya, Blender or Houdini

Experience communicating across team members including engineers, artists and production staff

Experience in game development, film or the tech industry operating as a Technical Artist

Experience building tools, plug-ins and designing workflows for content production

Preferred Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of emerging technologies

Experience developing plugins for industry-standard 3D software

VR/AR experience

Experience with open source projects such as USD

Comprehensive understanding of how to build content for real time performance

Maya experience including the C API

Extensive content development experience, including shipped AAA games

Experience with shader development
