The Village Bakery and Cafe in Atwater Village currently has two different positions available that we are hoping to fill immediately:
-Experienced Assistant Bread Baker
-Dishwasher.

ASSISTANT BREAD BAKER
Some experience in professional bread baking is necessary. Requires weekend work. You will be responsible for mixing, shaping and baking breads. You will be trained to make the bread to our standards, but you must have some prior professional experience. Hours to begin with would be Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 2pm until 10pm. This could turn into a full time position once you have been successfully trained.
Requirements include:
Knowledge of doughs, mixers and ovens
Experience in shaping dough by hand
Strong attention to detail
Ability to multi-task
Ability to read and follow recipes exactly
Cleanliness
Promptness and dependability
Valid CA food handler’s card
Able to work long hours standing up.
Flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
DISHWASHER
Shifts start at 6am and weekend work (both Saturday and Sunday) is required.
Requirements include:
-Experience dishwashing in commercial kitchen.
-Great attitude and be committed to reliability and productivity
-Can keep up with a fast-paced work environment
-Ability to follow standards including food safety and sanitation
-Have a flexible schedule and open availability
