You’ll Be the Vibe Setter:
Greet and thank guests with a genuine smile
Check IDs when required (professionally, of course)
Help seat guests and explain our “order & pay” system
Spot and smooth out issues before they become problems
Keep the space safe, clean, and ready for good times
What You Bring:
Valid California Guard Card and RBS certification (RBS may be obtained within 30 days of employment)

Position Overview
Our Safety Hosts play a critical role in guest experience, safety, and team support. You're not just a greeter—you help maintain the tone, flow, and safety of the entire venue. A host must be focused at the entrance to greet guests, check IDs, and float through the dining room as needed. The host is expected to perform the following duties:
1. GREET & ENGAGE WITH GUESTS
Be warm, welcoming, and confident—the first and last impression matters.
Script:
“Hi! Welcome to 33 Taps. Grab any open table—it’s open seating. You can easily order using the QR code, with a server, or at the bar. Let me know if you need anything!”
Explain how the Order & Pay system works and let guests know we’ll bring their items out.
Kindly ensure restrooms are used by customers only—ask if they’re joining us for food or drinks.
2. SAFETY & AWARENESS
Ensure 33 Taps is a safe, welcoming environment at all times.
Be alert and aware of guest behavior, potential over-intoxication, or disruptive conduct. Never use physical contact; call law enforcement if safety is at risk. Document any incident thoroughly in an incident report.
De-escalate situations calmly and professionally; ask problem guests to leave if needed.
Maintain constant communication with Management, Shift Leads, and other staff.
Know what’s happening in the room at all times—this helps protect the business and guests.
Check all guests’ IDs at the entrance and enforce venue policies such as:
No outside food or beverages
Restrooms are for guests only (1 guest per stall)
Keep capacity at a safe and manageable level
Safety hosts must remain on-site until all restaurant employees have departed at the end of the night.
3. FLOOR SUPPORT & FLOW
Assist in seating: seat 2-tops at 2-tops, fill every seat during busy times.
Help bus, clean tables, run food, and take guest orders when needed.
Restroom checks—help keep them clean and stocked (1 person per stall).
Keep the entire venue tidy and ready—help stock as needed.
4. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & CERTIFICATIONS
Dress code will be strictly enforced – well-groomed and fresh.
Valid BSIS Guard Card.
Valid California RBS certification.
This position may involve physical tasks including:
Climbing
Bending
Pushing
Pulling
Standing for long periods of time
Walking
Using stairs
Lifting and handling objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
