An established Federally Qualified Health Center looking for an experienced Medical Biller. The successful candidate should be familiar with medical coding and finest practices in billing. You will be responsible for handling and processing patient information and insurance documents.
Responsibilities:
Compile, update and maintain patient medical records to document condition and treatment.
Accurately code and bill all services and procedures to maximize reimbursement from insurance companies and patients.
Process patient data such as diagnosis, insurance information, and treatment records.
Resolve any issues with insurance companies concerning unpaid or partially paid claims.
Review patient bills for accuracy and address any discrepancies in a timely manner.
Prepare, review, and transmit claims using billing software, including electronic and paper claim processing.
Follow up on unpaid claims and work closely with collections agency to collect on bad debts.
Proactively answer all patient or insurance inquiries related to assigned accounts.
Adhere strictly to company policies and HIPAA regulations for confidentiality.
Constantly update skills and stay aware of updates in medical coding and billing procedures.
