Front Office Receptionist/Coordinator

Busy private medical practice is seeking a highly skilled front office receptionist/coordinator. This role is a key team member of our office and is essential to building patient relationships and helping our practice thrive. The receptionist must be able to maintain front office functions and protocols for successful daily operations. The right candidate must have an outgoing personality with excellent phone, listening, and organizational skills. This person must be able to multi-task, treat patients with friendliness and respect, be extremely detail-oriented, and most importantly a team player. The person must be intelligent, self-motivated, a go-getter with a can-do attitude. They should know how to prioritize, understand, and set goals and accomplish them independently. They should also be highly computer savvy and able to quickly learn medical software and phone systems.

Job Responsibilities:

- EMR (Electronic Medical Records) data entry and report generation

- Maintain office appointment schedule

- Answer telephones (Multiple Lines)

- Use internet portals and EMR for verification of patient insurance coverage

- Scheduling patient appointments

- Payment Collection (Copays and Outstanding Balances)

- Requesting prior authorizations for treatments/procedures and medications

- Coordinating patient medication requests

- Fulfilling all other patient requests in a timely manner

- Maintaining all proper medical records in the electronic chart

- Receiving and routing all messages to the appropriate staff member in a timely fashion

- Returning phone calls, emails and texts as necessary, in a timely fashion

- Calling and confirming next day appointments

- Verifying patient insurance status

- Transmitting correspondence via FAX, Email and mail

- Create and finalize reports utilizing EMR, Microsoft Excel and Word

- Willingness to work in our office as needed to help out in whatever way is necessary to ensure the vitality of our practice

- Some back office coverage including light medical assisting may be required from time to time

Additional Experience not required but is a major plus:

- High proficiency in internet use & searches, Microsoft Windows 7/8.1/10, MS Office, Adobe Acrobat and e-documents

- Social networking experience (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc)

- Bilingual (Spanish/English speaking)
