Intake Coordinator (Entry-Level)

Independent Durable Medical Equipment (DME) company is seeking a long-term, honest, reliable, and responsible employee to join our team.

Responsibilities:

Answers incoming phone calls and faxes, takes customers’ orders for durable medical and respiratory equipment, repairs, supplies, and other miscellaneous items.

Services walk-in patients as needed.

Schedules delivery and equipment pickup appointments.

Document all calls.

Prepares intake, gathers all necessary information about referral, patient demographics, contact person, physician, diagnosis, discharge time and place, item(s) requested. Gathers all necessary documentation, prior to delivery CMN, Rx, ABG, Care Plan, Authorization, etc.

Informs patient of financial responsibilities: copay, share of cost, deductible, rentals, etc.

Process orders to shipping or dispatching for deliveries.

Knowledgeable on product and insurance coverage issues to inform patients of copays and other benefit information.

Attends all departmental meetings, company meetings, and in-services.

Reports to work daily and is ready to work at the scheduled start time.

Works on call via company cellphone as assigned. (Weekly rotation)

Performs any other duties that may be requested by supervisor or management.

Maintain a professional safe and clean work environment.

Perform all other duties as assigned and required.

Work Experience Requirements:

Bi-lingual (preferred)

Excellent Customer Service skills

Detail oriented.

Knowledge in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel or Google Sheets

Plan and prioritize to achieve results and meet deadlines.

Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.

Knowledge of diagnosis and medical terminology (preferred)

Must be a quick typer, knowledge of computer uses and navigating. We use Brightree, Chrome, Excel, Google Sheets, Insurance Portals and Document shared files.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.50 per hour entry-level to $17/hr. based on experience.

Benefits: Health insurance, Paid time off, Paid training, Bonus pay.

Schedule: Monday to Friday and on-call weekends from home as needed (rotation). Experience: Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)

Work Location: In person (Whittier).
