Please note that we require at least one year experience caring for elderly, which means cna certification or equivalent experience. Equivalent experience must be from directly working with elderly people over 80 years old. We can ask you questions and can tell if you actually have experience.
The recipient is a 88 year old, kind, 110 lb, 5’ 2” female with dementia. Recipient lives in a 2 bedroom 800 square foot apartment in Los Angeles 90016. There is also one female roommate who stays in the back room who is in her 50’s and provides care one day per week, she also does minimal help during other days of the week.
This posting is for a PRIMARY person who will live at the residents and help the Recipient six days a week. For primary caregiver, we provide the front den room for free for helping the senior tenant. The den room rent provided for free for helping senior tenant in her home and you can use this as your personal space. Available for someone that is in the house every day and night, at least at home six days a week. Perfect for a responsible retired person or similar. The senior tenant provides $100.00 per day for when you help out. The senior tenant takes numerous short naps during the day, and you will assist primarily when she is mobile and walking around.
Senior tenant provides:
1) Free access to food in refrigerator, you can make your own meals and we buy groceries 1-2 times a month, depending on need.
2) Salary which is $100.00 per day, paid bi-weekly by cash/check. The senior takes multiple short naps per day, when she is napping you are free to take an extended break. You must provide assistance to senior when she gets out of bed. She usually sleeps through the night but if she gets up at night you must be immediately available to catch her.
3) Front guest room which is about 150 square feet, it is unfurnished, we can put in a futon bed if needed. However, we expect you will spend most time in Recipients room, as there is a bed for caregiver also in that room.
4) No dedicated parking space, there is street parking
5) The time off provided is one day off a week, unpaid, AND (optional) seven consecutive days off that occurs every eight weeks, unpaid, providing you tell us in advance.
6) WiFi
While we provide a free room, we expect caregiver to monitor Recipient while she is in her room and stay in close proximity to assist the Recipient walking at all times. There is a bed alarm in place. There is a second bed in the recipients room for caregiver, so caregiver can stay close at night. The recipient is a fall risk and cannot be allowed to walk without someone holding her.
All female household, female only. Unfortunately, we cannot consider male roommates do to this being a female only household.
We are looking for someone that will provide MATURE and ATTENTIVE assistance to an elderly tenant, 6 days a week and any help is divided between you and the other helper who is at the place once a week. You must be available six days during the weekday/night . If you have to leave daily/nightly you are not a match
Cleaning responsibilities are shared. You must be able to help keep the place neat and clean.
We are looking for an easy going, drama free person. We will do background check and check references.
No pets. The senior tenant has a small yorkie and it does not get along with other animals, and the yorkie is with her while she is at the apartment.
Ideally we would like someone familiar with the area/neighborhood. Also preference given to person with medical background and experience helping elderly. Please tell us about any experience you have in the medical field.

HELPING OUT IN THE HOUSE
Tenant is regularly visited by family and her social worker for wellness checks. Tenant needs help making sure she properly cleans herself after using the restroom for feminine hygiene. She needs to be reminded to take her medicine, help with cleaning and body hygiene for female, eat when it’s time to eat and help take her blood pressure. The tenants meals are premade. Also you need to know how to take blood pressure with a handheld blood pressure monitor. So please let us know your experience.
