The role of the Landscaper/Maintenance person includes providing knowledgeable, efficient support to the Landscaping/Maintenance department. Efficient execution of the overall landscape plan and projects in a collaborative team environment is the objective of this position. The schedule is regularly Monday - Friday from 6:15a - 2:45pm. Essential Functions
The list below may not include any other duties deemed necessary by the Director of Facilities & Maintenance and/or Lead Landscaper to accomplish the overall goal of this position.
Conduct daily site evaluations to ensure grounds are in pristine order.
Plant and maintain all indoor & outdoor plants.
Tree & shrub trimming, turf fertilizing.
Maintain all landscape areas free from weeds and pest.
Execute directives originating from Management and the Landscape Committee to ensure the highest standards of horticulture are met and/or exceeded.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3-5 years experience in the landscape industry including maintenance and irrigation.
Combination of 3-5 years of work experience or education in Horiculture is required.
Thorough knowledge of plant identification.
Ability to interpret and understand landscape, hardscape and irrigation plans.
Excellent customer service and communications skills.
Proactive and self-motivated attitude.
Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
Possession of a valid CA Drivers License and acceptable driving record.
Knowledge of all equipment used in landscaping.

Physical demands and work environment:
Able to stand for long hours, bending, lifting and reaching over.
Ability to use hands, fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
Ability to reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, talk or hear.
Regularly lift and or move up to 50 lbs.
Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Satisfactory auditory abilities are required.
Environmental Factors
The employee is exposed to working around equipment and machinery, chemicals, pesticides, high temperatures, cold temperatures and above normal noise levels.
Work Hours: This position is an hourly, non-exempt, full-time position with benefits. It requires working mainly Monday through Friday from 6:15am – 2:45pm. Hours may vary and could require weekend and or Holiday work.
