Legal Secretary/Legal Assistant needed for busy growing boutique litigation firm. This is an on-site position, NO remote work applicants, please.
We are a very busy, boutique litigation practice located in Agoura Hills, California with an emphasis on entertainment, copyright, trademark, patents, and trade secrets disputes. Our firm seeks a very experienced legal secretary/legal assistant who is familiar with both federal and state calendaring and filing procedures.
Duties will include:
responsible for all calendaring of pleading and discovery deadlines
creation of correspondence, discovery requests and pleadings including TOA's and TOC's for longer briefs.
answering phones and making calls to arrange depositions and other related court services.
maintenance of electronic and paper files
transcription of dictation
preparation of client invoices and tracking same
interacting with courtroom staff, clients, and opposing counsel
Desired Qualifications:
Strong organizational and communication skills
Full knowledge of MS Word, Corel Word Perfect, Adobe, Excel, and billing software
Typing speed of 90 wpm
Transcription of dictation at 80 pm
Ability to generate TOC's and TOA's
Knowledge of legal terminology and nomenclature
Minimum 5 years of litigation experience working in a California law office or legal setting
Compensation:
between $30/hr and $75/hr, DOE
