We are a busy little law office looking for an experienced Family Law Paralegal to join our team! As a Paralegal, you will be responsible for working closely with clients.
Spanish is a must.
Being able to handle more than 50 open cases from intake through judgment.
Must have the ability to work under pressure and prioritize workload.
Good Customer Service.
Must accomplish these tasks with little supervision, though attorney will review and edit prior to filing, with guidance as needed prior to review.
Essential responsibility and duties:
∙ Prepare RFO’s, I & E’s, client declarations, settlement proposals, trial briefs;
∙ Prepare and oppose TROs (mostly DVRO’s) and intake for opposing same;
∙ Prepare OAH’s, subpoenas, discovery, judgments;
∙ Knowledge of Court Procedures (e.g., handling subpoenas, filing and service deadlines, service procedures, electronic filing, etc.).
∙ Coordinating with opposing law firms, and courts;
∙ Manage our court and task calendars, maintaining schedules and deadlines;
∙ Administrative tasks (lists of cases and meeting pleading deadlines).
Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Paralegal requirements and qualifications
Spanish and English fluency
Fluent with Essential Forms
Minimum of four years of full-time family law legal experience
College degree or paralegal certificate a plus
Strong knowledge of procedure
Strong research and computer skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills and identifying priorities
Highly developed attention to detail
Strong multitasking skills
Fluent in Microsoft Word
Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
Independent thinker, problem solver, customer service oriented
Competitive and motivated; ABILITY TO WORK INDEPENDENTLY

$24-$33 per hour depending on experience, holidays, sick days, vacation days, a friendly and family-oriented environment, raises for good performance, and room for growth. $24 to $33 per hour depending on experience.
