Purchasing and Inventory Planning

Must Have Experience

We are looking for a Purchasing Officer to buy products that are essential for our company’s day-to-day operations. You will review prices and ensure optimal stock levels.

Purchasing Officer responsibilities include evaluating vendors, negotiating price and preparing reports (e.g. on orders and costs.)

Ultimately, you’ll create and maintain good relationships with key suppliers to ensure merchandise is high quality and delivered on time.

Responsibilities

Research potential vendors

Negotiate contract terms of agreement and pricing

Track orders and ensure timely delivery

Review quality of purchased products (Quality Control)

Enter order details (e.g. vendors, quantities, prices) into Sage Pro database

Maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information and invoices internally

Prepare reports on purchases, including cost analyses (COG’s)

Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed

Utilize ERP and Component Status Report (CSR)

Monitor inventory on a weekly basis to expedite or defer shipment.

Work closely with vendor(s) in Asia.

Enter quantities and landed cost into Sage Pro

Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage & delivery time

Create and close out work orders

Create and maintain Bill of Materials

Update and maintain SOP

Attend trade shows and exhibitions to stay up-to-date with industry trends

Skills and Qualifications:

Proven work experience as a Purchasing Officer, Purchasing Agent or similar role

Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating and liaising with vendors)

Hands-on experience with software (e.g. Sage Pro)

Understanding of supply chain process and procedure

Exceptional communication skills with multiple departments (cross- functional)

Solid analytical skills, with the ability to create financial reports and conduct cost analyses

Negotiation skills

Tracking BOM Expenses

Very detailed and highly Organized

Exceptional with Microsoft Office (Excel, word, etc.)
