Position Overview:
We are seeking a Purchasing Assistant to manage purchase orders and support both current and upcoming projects. The ideal candidate will work closely with foremen, project managers, and vendors, ensuring timely procurement of materials for interior renovations.
Qualifications:
-Basic knowledge of millwork and carpentry
-Strong work ethic and ability to follow direction
-Eager to learn and adapt
-Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Docs
-Prior experience with inventory tracking systems is preferred
Responsibilities:
-Prepare and place orders for millwork parts and hardware based on purchase orders, ensuring timeliness and efficiency
-Maintain positive working relationships with distributors, suppliers, and internal departments
-Research and evaluate products and distributors based on quality, specifications, price, and availability, reviewing each purchase order for accuracy
-Assist with project estimates, cost analysis, purchases, and job cost completion
-Monitor inventory, forecast needs, and maintain accurate records of materials ordered and received
-Organize and standardize existing inventory and shelves
-Develop standard operating procedures for the purchasing department
-Perform other duties as assigned
