Job Description:

Jayde's Market is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Market Assistant Grocery Manager. In this role, you will work closely with the Grocery Manager to ensure the smooth operation of our grocery department, uphold the highest standards of customer service, and contribute to the overall success of our store.

Responsibilities:

Inventory Management: Oversee the ordering, receiving, and stocking of grocery products to maintain optimal inventory levels. Monitor product expiration dates and ensure proper rotation to minimize waste.

Team Leadership: Provide guidance and support to grocery department staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management. Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and collaboration.

Customer Service: Interact with customers to address inquiries, resolve issues, and provide product recommendations. Strive to deliver an exceptional shopping experience that exceeds customer expectations.

Merchandising: Implement effective merchandising strategies to maximize sales and enhance the visual appeal of the grocery department. Ensure that displays are well-organized, properly labeled, and attractively presented.

Quality Control: Maintain high standards of product quality, cleanliness, and sanitation throughout the grocery department. Conduct regular inspections and address any deficiencies promptly.

Vendor Relations: Establish and maintain positive relationships with vendors and suppliers to negotiate favorable terms, track product performance, and explore opportunities for product expansion.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and regulatory requirements, including food handling procedures, sanitation guidelines, and labor laws.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a grocery retail environment, with previous supervisory or management experience preferred.

Strong knowledge of grocery products, including familiarity with industry trends and customer preferences.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers, employees, and vendors.

Proven leadership abilities, including the capacity to motivate and inspire team members to achieve common goals.

Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency in inventory management and merchandising tasks.
