A Journeyman Carpenter is a skilled trades professional responsible for performing advanced carpentry work on commercial, residential, and industrial construction projects. This role requires strong technical knowledge, the ability to read blueprints, and a high level of craftsmanship to deliver quality work that meets code compliance and plan standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform rough and finish carpentry including framing, formwork, backing, blocking, trim, doors, windows, and hardware installation
Read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and shop drawings
Measure, cut, and install materials with precision and accuracy
Construct and install structural frameworks such as walls, floors, ceilings, and roof systems
Install fixtures such as cabinetry, shelving, and built-ins
Assist with layout, leveling, and site preparation
Work safely and comply with all OSHA and company safety protocols
Collaborate with other trades to maintain workflow and minimize delays
Maintain tools, equipment, and materials in clean, working condition
Train and guide apprentices as needed

Qualifications
4+ years of carpentry experience
Proficiency in a minimum of three construction trades (e.g., carpentry, drywall, framing, concrete, doors/windows, light electrical, light plumbing, or similar skilled trades)
Strong knowledge of building codes and installation standards
Ability to read and interpret plans and measurements
provide your own power tools, hand tools, and carpentry equipment
Reliable transportation and ability to work on various job sites
OSHA 10 or 30 is admirable
High attention to detail and quality craftsmanship
