Lead Carpenter / Working Foreman – Residential + Light Commercial (DTLA)
Full-Time | W-2 or 1099 | $35–$50/hr DOE
We’re a growing general contracting company based in Los Angeles, currently managing three active projects: an ADU build, a commercial remodel, and a custom patio. We’re looking for a hands-on Lead Carpenter / Working Foreman to take charge of job sites, push production, and help us grow into a tight, high-quality crew.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead day-to-day construction tasks on-site (starting with foundation, framing, and rough carpentry)
Read and interpret plans, layouts, and details without supervision
Manage laborers or helpers and direct subs when needed
Coordinate inspections, deliveries, and material take-offs
Handle punch lists and client walkthroughs
Float between projects (ADU, patio, commercial T.I.) depending on phase
QUALIFICATION:
5+ years of carpentry experience, at least 2 years in a lead or foreman role
Strong skills in foundations, framing, siding, rough & finish carpentry
Able to work from plans and make layout decisions in the field
Basic understanding of plumbing/electrical sequencing (not required to self-perform)
Organized, communicative, and accountable
Comfortable running small crews or working solo as needed
Clean DMV + reliable truck preferred
COMPENSATION & DETAILS:
Pay: $35–$50/hr depending on experience
Schedule: Full-time, typically Monday–Friday
Employment Type: 1099 or W-2 (depending on candidate fit)
START DATE: ASAP — we're starting on a commercial remodel and continuing an ADU this month
LOCATION: Greater Los Angeles area — projects currently in DTLA and Torrance. You must be willing to drive to different sites.
