We are seeking a Manual Machinist (this is NOT a CNC position) to create and operate lathes, mills, saws (band, cold circular, abrasive cut-off saws), drill presses, grinders, heat furnace, shear, brake, hand tools, measurement devices, jigs and fixtures to shape, cut, and form metal parts to meet production specifications. The successful candidate will be required to utilize their skills in our machine shop, ensuring accountability and responsiveness to changing job requirements. A Manual Machinist is responsible for operating equipment, communicating with other employees and completing tasks in a timely manner.
Please note: If you are not a machinist, and you do not know how to use lathes, mills, drill presses and do not know how to read engineering drawings, do not apply for this job.
Responsibilities:
Follow the engineering designs.
Read and interpret engineering drawings.
Maintain a proper attitude towards safety.
Read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
Set up machine tools for machining operations.
Operate machine tools to rout, drill, and tap holes in stock.
Utilizes various grinding machines to finish parts.
Maintains and adjusts machines. Cleans & picks up work area.
