The Agricultural Weights/Measures Department is looking for their next Senior Agricultural Inspector.Starting salary up to $38.65/hour ($80,667/year) plus a cash allowance of approximately $600/month

Eligibility for a salary increase after 1,040 hours (6 months when working full-time) for good work performance; eligibility for a salary increase for good performance every year thereafter, until reaching the top of the salary rangeWorking as a Senior Agricultural InspectorSenior Agricultural Inspectors in the Agricultural Division protect the agricultural industries of the County, safeguard the environment, and protect the health and safety of agricultural workers and the public. They perform complex investigations and write reports, which includes notices of violations. As this is the senior level, this position may be the lead worker or subject matter expert for department programs.The ideal candidate will possess:Exceptional written and verbal communications skills
Experience interpreting and applying agriculture-related laws and regulations
Strong interpersonal skills to tactfully deal with enforcement matters, and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, stakeholders, and partner agencies
The ability to assist in training and mentoring of staff
Spanish/English bilingual skills (highly desired but not required)
