A cash allowance of approximately $600/month will be added to the starting pay

This position is assigned to the Adult and Aging Division's In-Home Support Services (IHSS) program. IHSS provides in-home care to low-income, elderly, and disabled individuals, enabling them to remain safely and independently in their homes. Social Service Worker IIs (SSW IIs) in this assignment perform client assessments of functional abilities and make determinations related to client care.

Under supervision, Adult & Aging SSW IIs also provide social service referrals in connection with public welfare, health, education, employment, and licensing programs. In addition, this position may be assigned to the IHSS intake desk, which handles incoming calls requesting IHSS services, assess applicants' eligibility for IHSS services, and provides information about community resources.

Ideal candidates will possess a degree in Social Work, and have experience providing social services to older adults and/or children, youth, or adults with disabilities.
