They will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans, ensuring compliance with all agency, local, state, and federal laws and regulations. The role requires excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills, and a deep commitment to providing high-quality care to the inmate population.Key Responsibilities Provide psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to committed persons, including prescribing appropriate medications and offering on-site or tele-psychiatry services. Create and maintain multi-disciplinary treatment plans for all applicable persons served according to company and facility expectations. Assist in monitoring psychotropic medication usage and coordinating medication in a cost-efficient manner. Offer on-site coverage as assigned each week, provide 24/7 on-call services if applicable, and offer written summaries of history, diagnosis, and treatment course as required. Assist in crisis intervention needs and screen committed persons for possible transfer to outside psychiatric treatment facilities or other community mental health facilities when necessary.Qualifications & RequirementsEducation
Must have Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Degree
Experience
Previous correctional/detention facility experience
Minimum two (2) years’ experience
Licenses/Certifications
Unrestricted current license, certification or registration in state of practice - must maintain all certifications, educational requirements, licensing, etc.
Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration
Current (and must maintain) lifesaving BLS and PALS (where applicable) certification through AHA
