A well-established California-based construction firm is seeking a skilled and experienced
Foreman Electrician to oversee electrical installations, supervise field crews, and ensure project
compliance with safety and code requirements. This position requires an active California
electrical license, supervisory experience, and availability for weekly travel to projects in
California as well as occasional travel to other locations in the United States as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate the work of electricians and apprentices on commercial, and
light industrial construction projects
Interpret schematics, and construction documents to plan and execute electrical system
layouts
Ensure all electrical work complies with NEC, local codes, and project specifications
Manage project timelines, labor productivity, and material usage to meet budget and
quality expectations
Conduct safety meetings and enforce job site safety protocols in alignment with company
and Cal/OSHA standards
Perform quality control checks and inspections to verify compliance and functionality
Communicate regularly with project managers, general contractors, and other trades to
coordinate schedules and resolve field issues
Train and mentor crew members, conduct performance reviews, and provide direction for
improvement
Complete required job site reports, timesheets, and inventory logs
Weekly travel to job sites in CA and out of state travel as needed-(20–35%)
Minimum Qualifications:
Active and clean California General Electrician Certification (required)
Minimum 5 years of experience as a journeyman electrician, with at least 2 years in a
supervisory or foreman role
Strong understanding of NEC and California Electrical Code
Experience managing crews and coordinating multi-phase construction schedules
Proficiency in reading electrical plans and performing load calculations
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record and reliable transportation
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills
OSHA 30 certification preferred (or willingness to obtain within 60 days of hire)
Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
Work Environment:
Job sites vary from commercial buildings to open-space developments
Outdoor and indoor work may be exposed to weather conditions, noise, and construction
hazards
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and navigate active job sites
