Description Robert Half is working with a leading grocery distributor dedicated to providing high-quality products and excellent service to their valued customers. With a rich history and a commitment to excellence, we are seeking a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team and contribute to our continued success.Position Overview:As a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in the financial operations of the company. You will be responsible for overseeing the accounts payable process, ensuring accurate and timely payment of invoices, and maintaining strong vendor relationships. Your attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to financial accuracy will be essential to your success in this role.Key Responsibilities:
Manage the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice verification, coding, approval, and payment.
Review and process invoices accurately and efficiently while ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
Reconcile vendor statements, resolve discrepancies, and maintain positive relationships with suppliers.
Process employee expense reports and ensure timely reimbursement.
Assist in month-end closing procedures, such as reconciliations, accruals, and reporting.
Analyze accounts payable data to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
Assist in audit preparations and respond to audit inquiries as needed.
Provide guidance and training to junior AP team members when necessary.
Stay up-to-date on changes in accounting standards, regulations, and best practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
5+ years of experience in accounts payable or related finance roles.
Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, principles, and best practices.
Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Large ERP experience such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of relevant accounting standards and regulations.
Prior experience in the grocery or distribution industry is a plus.
