Female full time housekeeper/ Personal care aid
Full time hourly position available (not live-in) at our private home in Pacific Grove for a patient, experienced, consistent and reliable home health care female to work with and assist in the feeding and care of my 60 year old wife. She is NOT bedridden but has complex PTSD, and a Traumatic Brain Injury along with the challenges that can accompany those diagnoses. Work experience with those kinds of patients will be important. She is not bed- or house-bound. The position is an evolving role that will start with daily basic housekeeping duties and grow from keeping our modest cottage clean and orderly to helping wife with personal care I.e. brushing her hair and keeping her clean and groomed, assist with bathing and similar functions to the degree she’s able to tolerate. We are a loving and happy faith based family. Your role will grow to assisting in food preparation, along with feeding, assistance with her medications, etc. The tasks at the very beginning will be cleaning on a daily basis, meal prep and cooking as needed, laundry, etc. Hopefully, in about four weeks there will the addition of light personal care some of which as mentioned in this ad, also washing and brushing of her hair, oral care, washing face, etc. Next steps, again as my wife can tolerate, will be medications. There are daily medications, currently dispensed by family members. That task will be transferred to this position depending on my wife’s tolerance although Oversite and ultimate responsibility for which will always be by family. The work hours for the aide position are from 10:30am to 6:30pm daily. Starting pay is $25 an hour during the first 30 day introductory days. On or about day 30 there will be a performance evaluation. This position works 40 hour/week.
