Description A dynamic cloud native platform organization is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist for 2,500 employees. This is a contract to permanent position. This role is 100% remote, responsible for managing payroll tax reconciliation, liaising with tax agencies, and ensuring smooth payroll operations.Job Title: Senior Payroll Specialist – Tax Agencies and ReconciliationLocation: Remote, with preference for MST or PST time zonesPosition Overview:The Senior Payroll Specialist will oversee payroll tax matters, including reconciling payroll taxes and handling notices from tax agencies. This role requires collaboration with our payroll team and external agencies to ensure compliance and accuracy. You will provide guidance and support to the payroll analyst, who will handle clerical tasks. Experience with stock vesting and Workday is a plus but not mandatory.Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Tax Reconciliation: Perform comprehensive reconciliations of payroll taxes and resolve discrepancies.
Agency Liaison: Serve as the primary contact for tax agencies, handling notices and ensuring timely responses.
Team Support: Oversee the work of the payroll analyst, providing guidance and ensuring accurate completion of clerical tasks.
Process Improvement: Review and provide recommendations on payroll processes, particularly related to Workday.
Stock Vesting: Manage stock vesting processes and resolve related issues, with an understanding of vesting schedules.
Collaboration: Work closely with the Payroll Manager and other team members to ensure seamless payroll operations.
Remote Flexibility: Adapt to a remote work environment with flexibility in working hours, particularly for tasks that may require attention in different time zones.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Experience: Proven experience in payroll tax reconciliation and agency liaison roles.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with payroll systems; Workday experience is preferred
Stock Vesting: Familiarity with stock vesting processes
Communication: Strong communication skills for liaising with agencies and internal teams.
Experience working remotely: Strong work ethic in home office environment
Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in handling payroll and tax matters.
