About the roleThe U.S. Tax Planning Senior Manager will support the U.S. tax planning team in advising on income tax matters related to business and tax initiatives impacting our global legal and business structure. The primary focus areas include supporting U.S. tax issues centered around Accenture’s U.S. M&A activity, supporting U.S. tax compliance and controversy processes, and performing required tax research and documentation. This person must have a well-rounded strong technical foundation in U.S. corporate and international tax, combined with good business sense and quantitative skills. Key Responsibilities

Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) and Post-Merger Integration (PMI)

Consult with the M&A Tax Leads and deal teams to assess U.S. tax implications of potential acquisitions.

Determine, document, and implement tax-efficient acquisition and integration strategies.

Support post-acquisition compliance and controversy activity, including managing targets’ existing tax preparers.

US tax compliance and controversy

Collaborate with the Tax Compliance team to ensure tax positions are reported accurately, particularly on M&A, PMI, and international activity (transaction reporting, Forms 5471 and 8858).

Collaborate with the Tax Controversy team and assist with reviewing responses to requests from tax authorities.

Tax research and documentation:

Tax technical research and documentation relating to tax planning efforts, new business ventures and new tax legislation.

Prepare or review material U.S. tax calculations/quantify U.S. tax positions.

Develop or improve tax processes, policies and procedures to align with and support the scale and complexity of Accenture. Improve processes to drive greater efficiency through automation, leveraging technology;

Maintain a high level of technical expertise and current knowledge of US taxation;

Identify, resolve and document tax positions and create procedures to drive value and efficiencies within the organization;

Work cross-functionally to ensure proper tax consequences of significant U.S. transactions and events, continuous monitoring and evaluating of tax positions;

The ideal candidate is an accomplished tax professional with unquestionable integrity, a positive reputation, and demonstrated success in previous roles. The Senior Manager – U.S. Tax Planning must have the ability to drive an agenda, lead at a rapid pace, and collaborate well within the company.Basic Qualifications

Minimum 7 years of Tax Planning experience in a public accounting or corporate multinational role

Preferred Qualifications

JD or CPA

A strong broad knowledge base of U.S. tax

U.S. M&A and international tax experience in a multinational company or professional services firm

Familiarity/experience with tax modelling

Professional Qualifications:

Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Strong organizational and project management skills

Self-starter with the ability and confidence to work well in an unstructured, dynamic environment

Proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
