As a Project Engineer supporting the Engineering, Fabrication, and Equipment Manager you will participate in building a large variety of products and systems to make our construction division one of the most high quality and competitive contractors in military fueling and marine construction. Duties of Project Engineer:
Participate in engineering design and analysis to support civil, structural or mechanical construction
Construction/shop detail drawings
Coordination between projects and departments
Database building and maintenance for estimating
Update As-built drawings
Assist with engineering calculations
Participate in quality assurance program for shop fabrication
Help to solve problems on the shop floor
Conducting load tests of aluminum manhole castings
Create and maintain weld procedures
Review submittals
Reviewing preliminary shop drawings
Assist in estimating future work
Assist in scheduling and schedule updates
Assist in preparing for audits, SSPC, AISC, etc.
Project Engineer position skills/qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or civil engineering
Possess or be willing to obtain EIT certificate and work towards PE license
Comfortable reading and understanding construction drawings
Good written and oral communication skills
Good problem solving skills
Work effectively as part of a team
Follow through on assignments
Proactively solve problems, find better ways of doing things
Willing to learn all of Nova’s production processes
Good time management, sense of urgency
Basic knowledge of Autocad 2D and 3D modeling
Accuracy and thoroughness
General Computer skills including Outlook, Word, Excel
General administrative skills including record keeping, documentation
Coordination with other departments
Salary: $76,000 to $80,000 per year, exempt status
