The duties of Staff Accountant include fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, general ledger reconciliation, journal entries, and the preparation of monthly and year-end closings. This position will require a fair amount of time dedicated to producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility during the monthly close. In addition, your responsibilities include communicating with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, playing an active role in compliance, and reviewing schedules for the reporting processes.Key responsibilities
Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments
Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed
Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management
Commentate on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner
Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments
Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Participate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Keep up fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Requirements
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Deep understanding of Bank Account Reconciliation
General ledger experience preferred
Comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Knowledgeable of ERP systems
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Outstanding analytical, quantitative and social skills
Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
