AECOM has a position opening for a Lead Electrical Engineer to support our growing Energy Business Line. For this role, AECOM offers the freedom and flexibility to work remotely and/or be located at a variety of Energy offices located in multiple locations across the United States through our Freedom to Grow program.Our team provides a wide range of electrical engineering services across markets sectors including  transmission (substations, OH/UG transmission systems, generator interconnections, interconnection strategy), power distribution (OH/UG power systems, substations, EV charging networks, microgrid design, etc.), renewables (Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems, Wind), and next generation energy (hydrogen, fuel cells, electrolyzers, etc.).  We are looking for a strong leader with a heavy industry and electrical engineering background to mentor team and promote our skills to new clients as well as maintain our existing client base. Qualified candidates will have a strong technical background coupled with leadership/supervisory experience.The successful candidate is expected to be a detail orientated, experienced engineer who can make decisions independently. The responsibilities of this role also include, but may not be limited to, the following:Provide mentorship to other electrical engineers within the Energy Center of Excellence and other remote teamsSupporting the Chief Electrical engineer on developing workload forecasts, design schedules and budgets for electrical engineering work activitiesPerforming Power system studies (load flow, short circuit, protective coordination, arc flash analysis)Directing electrical infrastructure physical layoutOne line and three-line diagramsDeveloping construction and electrical equipment specificationsProtective relay and metering one line / three-line diagrams       One-Line DiagramsWiring Diagrams and SchematicsPanel Layouts and SchedulesPlan Drawings such as grounding plans, lighting plan, raceway plans, cable tray plans etc.Electrical Lists - Cable and Conduit Schedules, Load List, Equipment ListCalculations – ampacity, cable sizing, conduit sizing, transformer sizing, Grounding Analysis and Design, underground cable and duct bankEquipment Specifications and Data SheetsBill of MaterialsReviewing engineering work performed by peersAttending client meetingsOccasional travel to client and/or project sites   Level specific responsibilities:Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.Provides technical expertise for studies and design efforts.Presents complex technical solutions to clients.Performs quality control reviews of work developed by others.Participates in development of technical proposals.Provides estimates for the engineering budget and scheduleAt AECOM, we’re delivering a better world.
