Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Assistant Product Manager in the consumer-packaged goods industry, located in Orange, California, United States. The role will involve managing correspondence with global suppliers, tracking key timeline deliverables, and providing sales support for specialty domestic customers among other responsibilities.Responsibilities: Source materials and new products, both domestically and internationally Manage and negotiate with global suppliers on various aspects including specifications, costs, delivery schedules, freight arrangements, and lab testing Maintain pricing files, cost sheets, and margin spreadsheets Track concept samples, art file submissions, licensor approvals, and production samples Monitor new artwork and orders for new products and packaging Oversee the initial ordering process for new material components and products developed as part of custom programs Ensure on-time arrival of goods through correspondence with vendors and freight forwarders Update customer web-based data profiles and product information Assist with customer service phone lines and enter orders from key accounts.Requirements Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field. Must have a minimum of three years of experience in a Product Management role. Demonstrated expertise in Product Development. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously. Proficient in using product management software and tools. Must have a strong understanding of market research and data analysis. Strong decision-making skills and the ability to address complex problems effectively. Must have excellent leadership skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Must have a strong customer-centric approach. Must be familiar with Agile methodologies. Must have a strong understanding of the product lifecycle. A Master's degree or an MBA will be considered an advantage. Relevant industry certifications will be considered a plus. Knowledge and experience in the specific industry of the company will be highly appreciated. Must be capable of travelling as needed for product demonstrations, customer visits, or industry trade shows. Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are necessary. Must be able to handle confidential information with discretion.
