This position offers a fantastic opportunity for someone with extensive bookkeeping experience and a passion for financial management.
Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Accountant/Controller with a strong background in bookkeeping and financial management. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing the full accounting cycle, handling complex tasks such as cash management, reconciliations, and payroll processing. This role will involve working closely with our leadership team to provide financial insights, streamline processes, and ensure accurate financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage daily cash flow and provide regular balance updates
Oversee all accounts in the Chart of Accounts
Handle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes
Set up and manage invoices, record deposits, and reconcile bank transactions
Perform monthly Bank and Credit Card reconciliations
Manage payments for Credit Cards, Loans, and Auto-Draws
Process Payroll and Payroll Tax Returns using Intuit Enhanced Payroll Software
Prepare and file Sales Tax Returns for multiple states, ensuring timely payments
Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes to support business growth
Develop a job cost accounting system to track income and expenses per project or sales event
Prepare timely financial statements and review them with the owner, offering actionable insights
Interact with government agencies as needed for compliance and regulatory requirements
Collaborate with external Tax CPA on income tax returns and other tax-related matters
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
7-10 years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience
5-10 years of experience with QuickBooks Desktop
3-5 years of job cost accounting experience (preferred)
Advanced proficiency in Excel for data analysis and reporting
Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles
Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Ability to multitask and maintain organization in a fast-paced environment
