As your “groupies” learn Spanish, you will be paid $40 per hour class and receive ongoing coaching plus training and support in every step to become fully versed in our teaching method.
The position, just like any rock star musician, is as independent contractor. Classes begin immediately following the end of school and in the late afternoon/early evening in city community centers. We are looking for instructors for Central and South Orange County, CA (Newport Beach, Tustin, Aliso Viejo, Dana Point, Foothill Ranch, Ladera Ranch, Laguna Beach, Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, Lake Forest, Mission Viejo, Newport Beach, San Clemente and San Juan Capistrano.)
Feed your inner creativity as you adapt Conversa’s lesson plans that will make teaching a breeze!
Every day you will leave your classroom “stage” with at least one exciting, funny or interesting story to tell since you will use Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling and Comprehensible Input to teach!
You will ignite the “spark” in your students as Conversa’s workbooks and the appropriate use of instructional technology enhance and extend their language acquisition!
You will have the satisfaction of hearing your name called out all the time for inspiring your students to learn a second language! Be surrounded by positivity as you create an atmosphere conducive to learning in a fun, natural and respectful way!
Our teachers teach a FEW hours per week in the afternoons and sometimes early evenings. This is NOT a full NOR a part time position.
Responsibilities:
Engage students in the classroom to ensure Spanish language acquisition.
Excellent classroom management skills
Monitor student behavior and enforce classroom rules and expectations to maintain a respectful learning environment.
Implement Conversa's curriculum.
Create a safe and supportive learning environment.
Dedicate time and effort in mastering Comprehensible Input.
Encourage students to use Spanish while focusing on comprehension of the language.
Develop a love of the Spanish language among the students.
