Vice President, Senior Developer (Pacific Investment Management Company LLC (PIMCO) – Newport Beach, CA); Multiple positions available. Architect, code, test, deploy, and review software applications and framework that are used in internal trading tools. Develop and enhance internal applications supporting PIMCO's portfolio management and trading activities. Deliver complex platforms that enable decision making and employ techniques to optimize investment decisions. Collaborate with project managers, technical leads and business owners to develop trading systems that support business objectives. Identify the core functionality required from PIMCO's software programs, including the level of security and performance needs. Analyze users' needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers, project managers, and others within PIMCO Technology to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces. Design, test, develop, and enhance software solutions to meet PIMCO needs. Recommend software upgrades as appropriate for existing programs and systems. Collaborate within the Technology division to create optimum software. Design applications and software solutions and will ensure through software maintenance and testing that the solutions function normally and work seamlessly in conjunction with each other to achieve their objectives. Document the code and integral aspects of the applications and systems he works with to facilitate future maintenance and upgrades.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Engineering (any field), Computer Science, Economics, Finance, or a related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or in software development or software engineering. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in a stated field and 5 years of experience as stated, will accept a Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Engineering (any field), Computer Science, Economics, Finance, or a related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in software development or software engineering. All stated experience must include: PL-SQL; Python; and Oracle PL/ SQL or Oracle DB 4. Must also have 1 year of experience in the following skills: Agile Methodology; CSS; Batch scripting; Powershell Scripting; Unix Scripting; and JavaScript. Experience may be gained concurrently.
