We're seeking a passionate and skilled Line Cook to join Inka Mamas
This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional to work in a fast-paced, kitchen environment. You'll play a key role in preparing and presenting high-quality dishes, ensuring every plate meets our standards for taste and presentation.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Food Preparation: Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and quality standards. This includes chopping, dicing, and other prep tasks as well as operating various kitchen equipment.
Station Management: Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized workstation always, following all California retail food code regulations.
Quality Control: Monitor food quality and freshness, ensuring proper portion control and presentation of all dishes.
Teamwork & Communication: Work effectively with the sous chef and head chef, communicating clearly with other kitchen staff to ensure a smooth and efficient service flow.
Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper handling of food and equipment. Report any equipment issues to management immediately.
Qualifications & Requirements
A minimum of one year of experience as a line cook or in a similar role is preferred.
Strong knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
Ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
A valid California Food Handler Card is required. You must obtain this certification within 30 days of hire.
Compensation & Benefits
We offer $19 an hour plus tips.
In compliance with California labor laws, we provide:
A paid 10-minute rest break for every four hours worked.
A 30-minute unpaid meal break for every five-hour shift.
Tips are separate from your base wage.
