I'm looking for a caregiver for myself and my grandma. We'll just need help getting ready for the day.
Summary:
Hours: 9AM-12:30-ish PM, Sun-Tues (depends on how long it takes to finish getting ready)
Location: Huntington Beach (by Edison High School)
Mostly helping me with showering, going to the gym once a week, meal prep, and light housework. Grandma only needs help showering and light housework (see below)
Requirements:
FEMALE caregivers only please
IHSS Preferred but not required
English speaker
Comfortable with pets
Preference: non-smokers (but not required)
Responsibilities:
Light housekeeping: laundry, changing bed sheets, washing dishes, putting away clothes/dishes
Bathroom: bathing and toileting (ex: transferring from wheelchair to toilet/shower chair)
Transferring: ability to transfer 150-160 lbs (my arms, legs, and core are too weak to offer much help)
Dressing: changing shirts and pants
Meal prep: most meals will be already prepared and just needed to be warmed up (very rarely would you have to actually cook yourself)
Occasional errands: monthly prescriptions and rare doctor's appointments (I have a manual wheelchair that can fit easily into a car)
Gym: I like to swim at the local gym; though I'd prefer it if you went in with me, that won't be 100% necessary
A little about myself, I have spinal muscular atrophy type 3 and am completely wheelchair bound. I'm in my early 30s and live at home with my grandma, mom, stepdad, brother, and Pomeranian named Frosty. My grandma is 90 and surprisingly healthy for her age. We're only afraid of her showering alone and carrying items from her room upstairs down (ex: laundry and her trash). She's able to do pretty much everything else on her own.
