Mid-size firm seeks experienced legal secretary. This position supports 3-4 attorneys.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparation and formatting of legal documents, correspondence, court filings, calendaring.
Minimum skills and educational requirements include:
At least 5 years’ (and preferably 10 years’) recent California experience with civil litigation/personal injury background (insurance defense a plus).
Strong secretarial and computer skills - typing 70 wpm, transcription, Word/Outlook proficiency, strong attention to detail.
Knowledge of State and Federal Civil Procedure and Court Rules.
Extensive experience with State and Federal Court filings (including e-filing).
Strong communication, organizational and time management skills.
The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and work with a sense of urgency.
Strong attention to detail, a professional demeanor and the ability to prioritize several projects in a deadline driven environment are must have qualities for this position.
