We are a general civil litigation law firm, located near the Irvine Spectrum, that is seeking to hire a full-time Paralegal/Legal Assistant to join our team. The individual in this position will assist with the following:
Drafting discovery and discovery responses, summarizing discovery, subpoenaed records, medical records and depositions
Preparation of and tracking of subpoenas for consumer records/trial appearances/production
Creating spreadsheets for personal injury, property loss, and business litigation case; also, tracking medical damages for personal injury cases
Coordinating/ interacting with clients, consultants and expert witnesses
Drafting and/or finalizing pleadings and correspondence
Assisting with trial preparation including but not limited to jury instructions, trial binders, exhibits and trial presentation
Coordinating depositions and documents for depositions as needed
Calendaring court appearances and deadlines
Tracking and entering billing
Internet-based research and West Law research
New client in-take
Programs:
Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; WordPerfect; Westlaw; DropBox; Adobe Pro; Quickbooks; Clio
Qualifications:
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical and clerical skills
At least 5 years of law office experience
Good computer skills
Paralegal Certificate and/or LDA preferred
Organizational skills and ability to multitask
Adaptable/fast learner
Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
Prior trial experience highly desirable
