We are a leading plastic fabrication company located in Brea, seeking a skilled Molding Machine Mechanic to ensure that our molding processes meet all requirements and standards. Responsibilities:
Oversee the molding process to ensure it meets processing requirements.
Troubleshoot and set up molds effectively.
Assist and coordinate daily activities of production workers operating plastic molding equipment.
Collaborate with Shift Supervisors and Mold Techs to manage shift operations.
Develop, train, and coach production team leaders, cell leaders, operators, and material personnel.
Review the master schedule to plan and direct daily production, meeting production and quality targets.
Ensure productivity guidelines are met, including scrap rates, utilization, and meeting standards.
Verify machines operate according to standard cycles, allowable scrap, work instructions, and quality plans.
Inspect products for conformance to specifications and guide machine adjustments as needed.
Maintain safety procedures, production standards, and a clean working environment.
Support quality and environmental policies, and coordinate tooling, equipment usage, and maintenance.
Perform and oversee preventive mold cleaning and line clearance.
Train production personnel in 5S practices, quality standards, and company procedures.
Record process changes and follow escalation procedures.
Communicate shift-to-shift information regarding production status, quality issues, and instructions.
Qualifications/Requirements:
2+ years of experience within the plastic injection molding industry.
Strong troubleshooting and mold setup skills.
Excellent knowledge of equipment
Ability to lead and manage production teams.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and data entry.
Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus.
Capable of standing for long hours and lifting up to 55 lbs.
Attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean work area.
Reliable and punctual.
Pay Rate: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
