About the Role
We’re looking for a skilled Fabrication Manager to lead our fabrication department and oversee production of high-quality off-road vehicle components and assemblies. You’ll manage a team of welders, fabricators, and assemblers, ensuring every part meets our performance standards and aligns with our reputation for durability and precision in the off-road industry.
You’ll balance hands-on shop leadership with strategic production management, keeping workflow, quality, and timelines on track from raw materials to finished assemblies.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
Supervise and mentor a team of welders, fabricators, and technicians.
Train staff on fabrication techniques, safety, and quality standards.
Manage daily shop operations, schedules, and task assignments.
Production Planning & Quality Control
Oversee the fabrication of off-road vehicle components (bumpers, roof racks, suspension parts, etc.).
Coordinate with engineering to ensure designs are manufacturable and accurate.
Maintain high standards for fitment, finish, and consistency across product lines.
Implement and monitor QA/QC processes to minimize rework and material waste.
Process Optimization
Streamline production workflows and implement lean manufacturing practices.
Optimize resource use (labor, tooling, materials) to meet production goals.
Identify opportunities for automation or fixture improvements.
Equipment & Facility Management
Oversee maintenance and calibration of fabrication equipment (CNC, laser cutters, press brakes, welders, jigs, etc.).
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
Cross-Department Collaboration
Work closely with Design, Engineering, and Assembly teams to improve manufacturability.
Communicate project timelines and deliverables to project managers and leadership.
Provide technical input on prototype development and new product launches.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in fabrication management or production leadership within automotive, motorsports, or off-road industries.
Expert knowledge of metal fabrication, welding, and manufacturing processes (MIG/TIG welding, cutting, bending, fixturing).
Proficient with blueprint reading, GD&T, and working with CAD/CAM data.
Strong understanding of lean manufacturing and production scheduling.
Proven leadership skills with ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
Forklift certification or willingness to obtain.
Preferred Skills
Experience with CNC machinery and automated fabrication systems.
Familiarity with off-road vehicle design and aftermarket product fitment.
Knowledge of inventory and ERP systems (e.g., Fishbowl, JobBOSS, Odoo, etc.).
