Habitat for Humanity OC – Seeking Licensed General Contractors, Electricians & Plumbers (Projects $5K–$55K)
About the work
Habitat for Humanity of Orange County’s Home Preservation program delivers critical repairs that help owner-occupied families stay safe at home. We’re growing our contractor bench for small-to-mid projects.
We’re looking for:
General Contractors – typical project values $5,000–$55,000
Typical GC scopes include: roofing/re-roof & fascia; exterior/interior paint; windows & doors; decks/porches/steps; accessibility (ramps or vertical platform lifts, grab bars, door widening); siding/trim & wood rot/termite repairs; drywall/patch/texture; flooring (incl. limited subfloor repairs); minor kitchen/bath rehab (non-gut); concrete/asphalt (walkways/driveways/patches); weatherization & safety items (egress, smoke/CO detectors). Work may involve manufactured homes and coordinating multiple trades.
Electricians – service/panel, circuits, code/safety corrections
Plumbers – repairs/replacements, fixtures, lines, code/safety corrections
Requirements (must-have):
Active CSLB license (relevant classifications)
General Liability insurance
Workers’ Comp (or WC exemption if no employees for electricians/plumbers)
UEI (SAM.gov) registration (or willingness to obtain)
Comfortable bidding without deposits/progress payments; we pay within 2–3 weeks of final inspection/homeowner approval
Nice to have:
EPA RRP/lead-safe certification (as applicable)
Experience with city-funded/CalHome projects and permits in occupied homes

Rotating awards when bids are competitive & on-spec
