At Maxar, our next generation spacecraft range from Earth observation to interplanetary missions, including the Lunar Gateway Power and Propulsion Element (PPE).
We are looking for an experienced Avionics Subsystems Architect to join our growing Space Program Delivery team. This position provides an opportunity to develop new Avionics architectures for various mission types, including low earth orbit constellation designs. An ideal candidate would have knowledge of existing space avionics hardware and background designing platforms to accommodate this hardware.
As an Avionics Subsystems Architect, you will act as the engineering focal point for the entire avionics subsystem of a spacecraft being designed. Collaborating closely with a cohort of system and subsystem leads, you will develop avionics subsystem requirements and specifications through analysis and system trade studies, which translate customer requests into feasible design solutions. You will assist in flowing down avionics & data handling requirements into unit specifications, subsystem verification tests, and risk reduction plans. This will include vendor selection if new unit design is required, and close coordination with vendors while tracking unit deliveries to Maxar.
