We are looking for talented software engineers in the data plane team of Amazon Redshift. The data plane team is responsible for the database engine including query analysis, query optimization, massive parallel query execution, transaction processing and the storage layer. As a software engineer in the data plane team of Amazon Redshift, you will:
Design and implement state-of-the-art distributed data processing algorithms for the parallel execution query engine and storage layer.
Design and implement new SQL language features which add to the rich functionalities Redshift provides to the end users such as analysts, data engineers and data scientists.
Work on integration between Redshift and other AWS services in the AWS ecosystem, including data ingestion, federation, machine learning and many more.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C, or C# including object-oriented design
Enrolled in B.S / M.S / Ph.D. in Computer Science or any relative field during the time of application (graduation date on or after August 2021) with focused study and research experience in the following areas:
Distributed systems: fault tolerance, RPC, distributed data structures and algorithms
Database internals (storage): indexing, access methods, concurrency control, logging, caching, transaction processing, replication, backup restore, buffer management
Database internals (query processing): query compilation, optimization, execution, parallel execution
Compilers: design and implementation
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSStrong interests and academic qualifications/research focus in database systems, compilers, operating systems, distributed systems.
