Maxar is seeking a Senior Director to provide program management leadership of new business activities for our recently formed proliferated Low Earth Orbit (pLEO) line of business. The pLEO organization is developing exciting new technologies and pushing the art of the possible for space applications and is experiencing significant growth in the commercial and defense sectors as we baseline our system architecture(s) to offer a very flexible platform based on heritage designs and low-cost manufacturing processes. The Senior Director will coordinate and lead all new business activities, including coordination with our pLEO Chief Engineers Office and Operational Excellence teams, Program Manager pLEO Common Products Development, Business Development leads, and functional managers to ensure highest value offerings to our customers. This role will also be accountable for costing of the offering and coordination with the Maxar finance team to ensure we establish and maintain an efficient process to be responsive to all customer requirements while adhering to our pLEO core philosophies. The Senior Director will report directly to the Vice President, pLEO. The individual must possess excellent interpersonal skills, communicate well, influence effectively, lead an organization, be comfortable in a highly fluid/ambiguous environment, and strive for excellence with high integrity. The ideal candidate will leverage previous engineering expertise and well-honed leadership skills to navigate technical and schedule priorities and have a desire to build processes and operational structure where none exists.
