Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Cash Application Specialist in Pleasanton, California. This role is in the software industry and involves working with customer accounts and applications to ensure accuracy and resolution of inquiries. This is a part-time fully remote position offering 20 hours per week. Evening and weekend hours will not be considered and working daily is required. Responsibilities: Handle and record all forms of customer payments, including lockbox, wire, and ACH payments. Engage with Collections and Accounting to address payment-related issues. Maintain comprehensive documentation of all transactions and payment applications. Support in month-end closing activities and account reconciliation. Aid in special projects and process improvement initiatives as needed. Apply credit memos and resolve unapplied cash receipts. Execute customer refunds in line with established procedures. Utilize Excel formulas and NetSuite for efficient cash application and billing functions.Requirements Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR) is crucial, as the role requires frequent interaction with this aspect of finance. Experience with Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions, as this is a common method of payment processing in our industry. Familiarity with various Billing Functions is necessary, as the role involves issuing invoices and managing payments. Ability to monitor and manage Cash Activity, ensuring an accurate and timely cash flow within the company. Proficiency in Cash Applications, as the role requires the application of incoming funds to the correct customer accounts. Strong knowledge of Excel Formulas, as this will aid in the creation and management of financial reports and statements.
