Location: This role is scheduled to be 100% remote. While remote, finalists MUST reside in a one of the following states to be eligible for employment with Kaiser Permanente: CA, CO, DC, GA, HI, MD, NY, OR, VA, or WA. Department Description: he Data & Analytics Business Intelligence team provides services and infrastructure management for the following BI platforms: Tableau, Power BI, Cognos, Business Objects & ESRI. Services delivered to analytics groups at KP include the following: platform operations, tool optimization, automation & integration support for tenants, data science support for tenants, enablement of new capabilities, environment upgrades & platform lifecycle management. Internship Project(s): This entry level position will be working directly with the Data & Analytics (D&A) Business Intelligence (BI) and Reporting Platforms Team and will report to the Director of this group. Primary responsibilities will include: igh level solution consulting for D&A customers helping to assist in ‘How Do I’ type of questions for Data Analytics groups focusing primarily on Power BI & Tableau Aggregation of content from D&A product stewards to design, create and publish a 3-Year Product Roadmap for Power BI, Tableau, Cognos, Business Objects & ESRI deployments at KP Working closely with the D&A BI reporting team to design & document key processes such as: triage of operations service requests, intake of D&A customers and onboarding of tenants Facilitation of Communities of Practice for Tableau and Power BI Developers Tableau Creator Licensing Data Analytics Project – Metadata capture & reporting for Tableau Creator licensing for consolidation purposes with recommended next steps & actions. Creating and updating content in Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint and Confluence Target Majors: Computer Science; Business Administration; Data Science Target Skills: Knowledge of Data & Analytics Products & Concepts Process Modeling Knowledge Data modeling or data lifecycle knowledge Ability to work independently given a specific set of deliverables Competence with common office communication tools (Microsoft suite, Teams, Visio). Sound planning and organization with a strong attention to detail. Excellent written and oral communications. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Power BITableau development. DAX queries andor Tableau Prep. Developing, publishing and scheduling Power BITableau reports. SME and familiarity with the Microsoft PowerApps suite. Development and integration experience with REST services. Basic programming knowledge on HTML, JavaScript (or any scripting language). Coding skills in languages such as Python and/or R. Experience writing SQL used in report customizations. Data warehouse analysis experience including the ability to read Data Flow Diagrams, Conceptual and Physical Models. Knowledge of advanced data modeling techniques; predictive modeling, link analysis, graphical analysis, supervised and unsupervised models. Experience with complex data sets.
