Job Summary:This position provides leadership and management direction for the Kaiser’s corporate investment portfolio and pension-related investments. Essential Responsibilities:

Design and implement single or multi-asset-class investment strategy consistent with overall portfolio goals under the direction of the VP, Pensions and Investments.

Able to manage simultaneously multiple manager relationships and complex portfolios of investments

Able to source, evaluate and monitor investment managers. Negotiate investment management agreements, limited partnership agreements, purchase and sale agreements and other financial contracts, as required by the circumstances. Passionately defend and negotiate on behalf of Kaiser’s financial interests.

Constantly monitor investment environment. Develop and deliver informed and appropriate strategic and/or tactical recommendations for the investment portfolio consistent with Kaiser’s overarching goals.

Represent Kaiser financial interest in limited partner advisory board (“LPAC”) and other governance bodies as appropriate

Nurture a peer network of relationships

Elevate Kaiser’s profile and reputation as an investor of choice

Responsible for strict oversight of the Kaiser back office to ensure accuracy of records and reports. Take ownership for the quality of Kaiser’s records.

Create and maintain effective working relationships across the Pensions and Investments organization, Treasury and Kaiser Permanente.

Develop, enhance and maintain processes and investment records appropriate to demonstrate adherence to strict fiduciary standards required under ERISA law.

Basic Qualifications:

Experience

Minimum fifteen (15) years experience managing large and complex institutional investment portfolios on behalf of institutional asset managers or as a consultant to institutional asset owners.

Education

License, Certification, Registration

Chartered Financial Analyst Certificate

Additional Requirements:

Expert MS Office suite proficiency, deep experience with Factset, Capital IQ, Bloomberg and/or similar financial software required

Deep experience across multiple asset classes required, either as an allocator or directly working for an investment manager.

Experience across multiple investment structures required (funds, investment management agreements, separate accounts, co-investments and direct investments).

Deep network of investment manager relationships and industry reputation appropriate to effectively represent Kaiser-s interests with investment managers.

Superior investment judgment tested over market cycles.

Deep knowledge of financial markets and corporate finance.

Excellent collaborative, leadership and communication skills.

Proven ability to attract, manage, mentor and develop junior team resources.

Strong preference for a collaborative-style leader with excellent communication skills, and a desire to deliver superior investment performance.

Ability to travel for business as required for the role.

Preferred Qualifications:

Additional designations (e.g., , CIPM, CPA, CAIA, or ILPA) preferred.

MBA or MS in finance, economics, business or a related field preferred.
