Patient Registration Specialist

Description We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Patient Registration Specialist to join our healthcare team. in Pomona CA. You will assume responsibility for a variety of tasks, which will primarily include gathering and processing patient information, handling patient inquiries, coordinating with medical professionals, maintaining patient’s records, and ensuring high-quality patient service.Responsibilities:

Greet patients or their representatives to initiate the registration process and collect necessary information.

Answer patient queries regarding the registration process and relieve their concerns, if any.

Maintain and update comprehensive and accurate patient records.

Verify patient insurance eligibility and perform insurance pre-authorization.

Cooperate with medical staff to ensure the seamless flow of patient-related information.

Schedule patient appointments, surgeries, or diagnostic procedures as per physician orders.

Assist patients in filling out necessary medical or legal form.

Uphold patient privacy rights and maintain confidentiality of information as per HIPAA regulations.

Ensure compliance with all operating policies and procedures within the hospital.

Coordinate with the billing department to ensure accurate billing information.

Perform other administrative duties as required.

Requirements

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Certification in healthcare administration or a related field is a plus.

Previous experience in a similar role desirable.

Proficient in medical software and computer systems.

Excellent organization and multitasking abilities.

Strong communication skills and customer-service orientation.

Familiarity with medical terminologies.

In-depth understanding of insurance policies and patient billing procedures.

Attention to detail and strong data entry skills.

Knowledge of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Ability to handle stressful situations and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
