Description:o Review the labeling information provided in master/test recipes and production sheets and ensure accuracy and consistency in the labels. o Generate labels for immediate use or shipping containers. o Prepare and maintain documentation for label approvals by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). o Carry out approvals for generic labeling requirements. o Stay informed about labeling regulations from various federal agencies: USDA, FDA, FTC, TTB, CBP, and Local/State Agencies and present findings. o Conduct a systematic review of recipes to ensure accuracy and report any findings to upper management. o Review and endorse product specifications related to packaging, supplier information, and certification. o Create product specifications and nutrition facts for finished goods o Provide instructions on completing specific documents requested by customers. o Investigate food ingredient standards and regulations established by global organizations such as JECFA and IPCS INCHEM. o Gather essential information from foreign suppliers to ensure that standardized ingredients (if used) meet FDA food standards. o Verify that only approved food and color additives are utilized in accordance with good manufacturing practices. o Keep up-to-date with updates from the USDA’s Export Libraries, CFIA website, Canadian labeling consultants, and Mexican regulations. o Review and approve system updates using R&D master recipes through a change form. o Confirm the accuracy by cross-referencing with the R&D technical database and BOM. o Check and confirm that the working batch size aligns with the specified recipe.Skills:Regulatory affairs, Labelling, Regulatory, Fda, GmpTop Skills Details:Regulatory affairs,Labelling,Regulatory,FdaAdditional Skills & Qualifications:o Hold a Bachelor’s Degree (BA or BS) from a four-year college or university, majoring in food science and technology. o Alternatively, possess 6-8 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. o Have experience with FDA, USDA, Import/Export, and Child Nutrition labeling regulations, as well as Research and Development. o Demonstrate a strong understanding of nutritional trends, regulations, and policies. o Capable of developing suitable protocols and performing complex nutritional calculations. o Able to interpret various regulations and federal guidance documents. o Possess proficient knowledge of international labeling regulations in regions such as Mexico, Canada, South America, and Asia.Experience Level:Intermediate LevelAbout Actalent Actalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
